Our entertainment is The Hartford Yuletide Carolers - Plus, we're collecting toys for the Annual Silverliner's Fantasy Flight to the North Pole, for children with life threatening illnesses at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. We need new unwrapped toys for children aged 8 and under.

The 45th anniversary of this favorite holiday tradition brings brand new attractions, excitement and joy as the season of giving begins. The
Hartford Festival of Light® has long marked the start of the holidays in Greater Hartford as thousands of families join together each year in song and celebration to count down to the moment when hundreds of thousands of white lights are illuminated across Constitution Plaza.

And this year there will be more lights than ever, more entertainment than ever, and an even greater outpouring of community spirit at the kick off to the biggest festival yet. For the first time, the Festival of Light features a toy drive for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program. All attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the ceremony to ensure that no child is left without a gift to open during this year’s holiday celebrations. Plus, the festival will be greener than ever with energy-saving LED lights illuminating
the plaza through Three Kings Day, Jan. 6, 2009.
